Ah.

So sometimes being openly Christian can put you in a bind. Unfortunately Christian & human are not allowed to coexist. It's as if people are waiting for you to slip up so they can call you a hypocrite. It really doesn't work that way. As a matter of fact, being a Christian means acknowledging that you aren't perfect & accepting God's grace. I assure you that I need a lot of grace! But nonetheless, the rest of world has the idea that Christians are holier-than-thou & some are but there is a big group of us who want nothing more to love & serve others. Hopefully, someday more people will see that. For now, enjoy some pictures of my sweet boy.

Big Helper

Ollie loves to help me unload the dishwasher. He's really good with the silverware. Luckily, he hasn't figured out how to pull up the plates...yet! I have a crazy , crawling, pulling up, walking baby on my hands! I LOVE IT!! And yes mom, I remove all the knives first!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Bob! We had to celebrate a day early because tomorrow we set up for summer camp. This morning Ollie gave his daddy a really cool collage cup. I'm sure that'll come in handy for his morning coffee. Bob's requested (what else?) cheeseburgers, oven fries & corn on the cob for dinner! Ha!

Anyway, Bob, you are such a wonderful father. I'm so glad I made you my partner. You are an amazing man who is so tender & loving with our son. You are a man to be celebrated! I love you!

First Trip to the Ocean

Tank of Gas. $25
Umbrella. $12.99
Baby Pool. $ 5.00
My baby seeing the ocean for the first time--
Priceless

We took Oliver to Wrightsville Beach on Saturday. It was a gorgeous day!

Knowing we could not be took careful with our precious child's (we'll call him Super White) skin, we came prepared. His ensemble was complete with SPF 70+ sunscreen, SPF 80+ umbrella, SPF 90+ swim shirt & a hat.

Super White's mother (we'll call her Super Careful), was only super smart with Super White & not herself. In the hustle & bustle of beach prep neither of his parents were prepared & both suffered quite severe sunburns!

The waves proved too much for SW. He did, however, enjoy his time eating sand & playing in his new baby pool.

Five Years!

Five years ago today, I married my best friend. I was so excited, I woke up with butterflies in my tummy! It was such a great day--sunny, warm, a beautiful June day in Minnesota. Of course the day was a blast, but the real fun has been the last five years. The ups and downs, the exciting days and the blah days...we've had a few of them all. Bob's made me laugh and cry. He's shared my most treasured moments and the ones I'd wish to forget. It's been an amazing five years and it's gone so fast. I look forward to the next five. More kids, more laughter, more love. I love you, Bob!

Messiness!

I love being messy. I think that'll be one of my greatest attributes as a mom, that and my high hug quotient.

Anyway, Oliver & I have had a blast being messy. Our recent escapades include our flour fun & highchair art. The flour was an easy clean up. The high chair art, not so much. I gave Ollie pea & carrot purees & let him make art on his tray. Doesn't sound too bad, right? Well, when your little boy loves to slap wet stuff, it is. He slapped that mess till it was on the window, the table & the daddy! Nonethless, it was fun.

His "masterpiece"

Splish Splash

Here is a video of some water fun we've had over the last 9 months. At the end of the video, Ollie does fall out of the tub but it is into my lap and he didn't get hurt at all.

Flour Fun!

Being parents has brought us so much joy. It has been a amazing to watch Oliver grow and change. It warms our hearts to see him laugh and smile. Yesterday, we had a particularly fun day. I got out some measuring cups, containers and flour. Ollie and I sat on the floor and had a blast playing with it. He had never felt that texture before and it fascinated him. He loved to feel it sprinkle on his face and squish between his fingers. He didn't, however, care for the feel of it in his mouth! Here is a video of the fun we had. And I know what you are thinking...he IS the cutest baby in the whole world!
